Mobile Device Management MDM

A system that manages phones and tablets accessing corporate data: enforced screen lock, company apps kept in a separate container, remote wipe of corporate data on lost devices.

When you need it

• If employees access corporate email from their personal phones
• If field teams process customer data on tablets/phones
• If laptops also have no central management (UEM)

When you do not need it

• Not needed if there is no mobile access. If you use M365, your license may already include mobile device management; check before buying a separate product.

Tied to the identity provider's conditional access: unmanaged devices cannot access corporate data.
